Organization 101 :: Part 2 ::

So in Part 1 I was talking about what I do to organize my "memories".

Now I'm going to show you what I have done in terms of organization/storage and talk a little bit about some of my favorite albums.

You see that red canvas box titled "Stuff"?  That's my box and in it I have all my labeled envelopes according to theme or project.  All my photos are now sorted according to categories.  I decided to re-use some of my existing photo envelopes and folders to cut down on paper wastage and these are labeled in the same manner as described in Part One.  I also have a separate box upstairs containing all the "Us" photos as they would have taken up the entire box on their own.  More than enough to get me started though...

Above that I have more Canvas "boxes" which contain my scrapbooking tools, mini albums and embellishments.

The Canvas open storage were purchased from Joanns.

I hate to see an untidy shelf.  "Out of site out of mind" is my motto, so open any cupboard or drawer in my house and 90% of the time it will be a shambles.  If I can't see it, then it doesn't bother me.

The top Magazine Organizers hold all my magazines and scrapbooking books as well as my Clip Art books.

The Green Scrapbook Paper Vertical Storage are by Memory Dock.

I still can't believe I've managed to fit all my supplies into my dining room having had a whole room upstairs.  The Vertical Paper Storage makes a huge difference.

So now onto my album picks.

We all know I like my Shutterfly Photobooks for Digital Papers.  I have been known to scan in my old photos and create pages but more often and not who has time, and what is the point when the photos are right there.  This is where Paper fits the bill.

My fave albums are the Scrapworks Anthologie Album, in particular the 8 X 12 size.  I really enjoy scrapbooking at a size different from the norm and the 3 different styles of page protector make it super easy and fast to get those photos into albums.

Here's a few pages from a Black Canvas 8 X 12 Anthologie Album that contains loose photos that I have of me and my family.  I just need to go through and add names and dates etc..

My other fave is the 12 X 12 AMM Urban Album, although I've used all sizes from 4" upwards.  They are affordable, durable and hold LOTS of pages.  My kind of album.  I have 2 on the go at the moment, both of which will eventually hold all my photos and memorabilia from my year in Austria as student and documents all my backpacking.  These photos were originally in one of those "acidic" albums with the "sticky" pages.  The pages were turning yellow so I pulled them all out and have rescrapped them.  It's a big album but hoping to finish soon.

For smaller albums, I have discovered these.  I couldn't resist this one for our trip to Hawaii in November :)
