Good News

So far this week I've been juggling children, work and landscapers.  Tomorrow it's going to get even more interesting with the arrival of our furniture!  FINALLY!  Eric's in class so I'm flying solo and won't be around for a day or two until I resurface from under all the packaging.

Something else to get excited about.  I'm scrapbooking.  And not JUST scrapbooking.  I'm actually scrapbooking consistently.  You can see my latest here.

Things are looking up!

Flip Revisited

It's been around and about in my purse and I pulled it out last night for the first time in weeks.

Luke performs the longest smile on record while waiting for our food to arrive at Teds.

Some fun at Southlands just minutes from our new home.  All the kids were trying to avoidthe shoots of water.  Luke on the other hand made a point of running right into them.

Waiting

I seemed to have spent a lot of time this week waiting.  Waiting for furniture, waiting for calls, waiting for various appointments, and for a girl as impatient as myself, that's a LOT of waiting...

The latest on the furniture?  We're hoping end of next week.  We were hanging out with the neighbours last night and one suggested organizing an air strike. LOL!  Not a bad idea if it weren't for all my scrapbooks ;)  Trying to maintain our sense of humour.  Thank you for all the emails of support.  It really has made a difference to have such a "virtual" support group of friends.

I've been working when I can (12 new products coming to the store this weekend) and heading up to the pool in the afternoons.  The 100F heat is not phasing us at all.  The novelty of the weather has yet to wear off.

I'm also trying to wade through the hundreds of photos I've taken since arriving here and arrange them in some sort of semblance of order.  So much to document.  Here's a start.

FirstImpressions Supplies:  Number 15 Layered Template by Ali Edwards, White Paper from Paraiso Azul Paperie and Tan Paper from MonoBlendz "Dunes" Paperie by me (coming to the store this weekend), Stamped Stitches by Katie Pertiet. (Stitching technique was inspired by DD Design Team Member, Crissy.)

I have a feeling I'll be relying on lots of templates over the next few weeks while I crank out some digital pages.  You can see some more of my new layouts at the new Digital Scrapbooking Beta Website.  The magazine listened and they've been hard at work creating some serious upgrades to the website.  Exciting stuff to come.  Check it out and please post your feedback!

Personal highlight of the week had to be last night's Skype call with the Barut family.  We chatted, the children pulled faces at each other, Isabel and Ronalyn ate dinner, I made brownies, Ella and Isabel drew pictures,  we cyber -shared grapes, we did a virtual tour of the new house, Isabel showed off her new teeth and we planned future scrapping sessions via Skype.  It was just like we never left and was so NICE to be part of the Barut household again.  Before we knew it 2 hours had passed.  Can't wait to do it again.  It really energized us all.

Setbacks

Life is full of them and yesterday seemed to be a double whammy for us.  Expecting our furniture at some point this week we learned our truck would not even be leaving Montana until next week.  Who knows when we'll et our stuff.  When Eric came home later that day and announced he'll likely go to shift work, it was the final straw...

Today was a new day.  I am overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done around the house, getting the children settled in this place we now call home and trying to stay on top of all my work commitments and endless photos.  It's just too much, but in the midst of it all there are still a few surprises like this edible arrangements fruit basket that was delivered to our door today from our longtime friends, Justin and Cherilyn and an email from my Mum and Dad saying they've book flights to come at help at the end of next month.

I am out of my element.  I'm feeling completely unsettled and anywhere but my comfort zone.  For those that know me it's not a happy place for me to be.  So until the unfamiliar becomes familiar again, I hope you'll all understand my less frequent posts on the blog.   I will of course keep you posted...

LOL

Luke's latest little throw-back:

"Mommy, you are killing my wife"

Translation:  "You are runining my life" + "You are killing me"

Makes me chuckle every time.

Crazy busy at this end.  Nine hours out and about today at Home Depot, Walmart, the Mall etc... My work day started at 10.30pm this evening.

Whooaaaahhh

I ventured out today on my own in the car and found myself quickly over my head in 6 lanes of traffic.  What can I say?  It's been about 7 years of driving on deserted back streets so 6 lanes is a little over-whelming.  I kept my cool, of course, and thankfully we survived.  I clearly need more practice.

A layout from a few weeks ago when we packed out our house.  Latest update on when we're going to see our stuff again?  We've been assured it will arrive this week, however, it has been confirmed it is still in Montana.  It takes two days to drive here from there and with the holiday fast approaching not sure how they're going to manage that one.

Latest layout uses another template from this weeks QuadPack release.  Each template will be released individually this coming weekend.  Papers are from Mindy's Karissa Kit.
