Setbacks

Life is full of them and yesterday seemed to be a double whammy for us.  Expecting our furniture at some point this week we learned our truck would not even be leaving Montana until next week.  Who knows when we'll et our stuff.  When Eric came home later that day and announced he'll likely go to shift work, it was the final straw...

Today was a new day.  I am overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done around the house, getting the children settled in this place we now call home and trying to stay on top of all my work commitments and endless photos.  It's just too much, but in the midst of it all there are still a few surprises like this edible arrangements fruit basket that was delivered to our door today from our longtime friends, Justin and Cherilyn and an email from my Mum and Dad saying they've book flights to come at help at the end of next month.

I am out of my element.  I'm feeling completely unsettled and anywhere but my comfort zone.  For those that know me it's not a happy place for me to be.  So until the unfamiliar becomes familiar again, I hope you'll all understand my less frequent posts on the blog.   I will of course keep you posted...

Wow, Anna, looks like life is throwing you some punches.....
I hope you'll be able to cope with camping out in the house for a while, until your furniture finally arrives! I remember, whenever I moved somewhere new, it would take me about six months to feel at home again. And about a year before I would tell my husband that I had recovered, and that I would be able to do it all again! I hope you will be able to enjoy your new surroundings for a bit longer than that, though! Hang in there, all the best!

Hi Anna. The very nature of moving makes it stressful. Being seperated from your stuff is never a good thing. Hang in there. Hopefully, the wait won't be much longer.

That edible arrangement looks soooooooo yummy. BTW, I saw the picture of your daughter painting. It was so precious. Renee is building something really special around it.

You are young, beautiful, and strong. You'll get through this just fine.

Hi Anna, it's me, long lost Dawn! I'm here in Great Falls, Montana...want me to go find your furniture and tell them to get MOVIN!!!!! I always ask myself, in the BIG scheme of life, does this really matter???
Well, yeah, it is kind of nice to have a bed...table...television!!!! Take care!!

Anna my friend, as someone else who doesn't react well to change or disruption (go figure! :) )... I understand your feelings and frustrations. I wish Ohio and Colorado were not so far apart and that I could sit with you over a cup of tea and make you giggle until the clouds lifted.

Having a "few" years on you...I can tell you that I know one thing to be true. This too WILL pass and one day soon the unfamiliar will be the familiar.

Hang tough buddy. Life may be throwing you a few curve balls right now...but I know you...and I'm confident that you can hit them out of the park.

You know where I am if you need an outlet for venting. :)

hey anna, I've been wondering if you're ok and waiting for a post. you're right, life does have its setbacks, it's like a rollercoaster riding the ups and downs and sometimes we feel like we'll never get off it, but you will see that time will make everything all ok. your parents coming over sounds like the start of good things to come.
the fruit basket from your friends is such a lovely gesture and a gorgeous photo you've taken.
take it easy, take some time out for yourself when things get settled and I hope you grow to love your new surroundings and home very shortly. once the furniture arrives, I'm sure this will be part of the new beginning.
take care :)

It totally stinks that things are not going as smooth as you'd like them. Just try to remember in the grand scheme of things everyone is healthy and together:)

We'll keep you in our prayers that everything smooths out soon for you.

I think much more cyber tea is in order Anna :) I'll pour you a large cup..
I remember so very much the time it took for our stuff to arrive from when my Father was in the Air Force. hard times but the excitement when it got there was wonderful - you have that to look forward to dont forget.

keep walking round your neighbourhood and making it yours.
All will come good in the end, have faith.
take care- hang in there!

Just anothe rpart of your Journey... and as with most journeys, while you may get to choose the destination, the path is up for grabs. Looks like reinforcements are on their way to help so just take a deep breathe and keep walking the path. It will feel like Home, sooner than you think...
