I am a lot of things but not this. I aspire to be like those Moms who run effortlessly from one gig to the next but rarely do I find it as easy as they make it look. I struggle sometimes to get it all done, let alone in style.
Today, however, was one of those few days where I felt like a *SuperMama*. I lurched from one *event* to another and allowed myself to breathe my way through it all.
Everything from Ella's Community Care Award ceremony at school to juggling appointments to wildlife conservation. I even managed to squeeze in a bit of work in between.
The kids were late to bed, but I did it all, and in semi-style. It reminded again of this post.
Ella's award was/is a BIG deal. Our wee girl has been waiting for 2 years for this. She was so excited she was up before me this morning. Pretty much unheard of in our house.
And the wildlife conservation?
Long story short we have some temporary residents who decided to nest on a porch.
At the weekend we discovered babies.
However, today one of the babies fell out of the nest. The last thing I needed today was to be involved in an animal rescue.
I had no clue what to do, so I called my day care provider in for back-up. I knew she'd have some experience in these sorts of things, and she did. She came over, put the bird back in the nest, but by the time I got back from Ella's Martial Arts class the chick had fallen back out.
We then contacted Wildlife Rescue who gave us instructions to put the chirpin' chick in a toilet paper nest on a towel in a shoebox, feed her some dog food, and then take her to the shelter until the morning.
Thank goodness Denise has got this one. Birds are not exactly my forte.
Luke's heading out on a wildlife adventure tomorrow.
