The slips have been arriving home in the back packs this week regarding Take Your Child To Work Day.
Ordinarily, I would just bin them, but Ella is showing particular interest this year. Luke, on the other hand, in his words, just wants to *ditch* school. I don't feel that it is fair to exclude him and so I've made it clear that the day will not be spent playing with his Lego or the Wii.
Ella really wants to go to work with Daddy, but as this is just not possible, I've decided I will spend the day with them and show them a little bit about what I do for a living.
I'm planning a little photography how-to and a mini-photo walk with point and shoot cameras. I will also do a bit of SLR work with Ella if she shows interest. Here are a few helpful resources I've found for teaching children about photography:
- 13 Lessons for Teaching Children about Digital Photography
- How to Teach Photography to your Children
- Luring your Child into the World of Photography
I also want to show them how to download their photos. I think they're still a little too young for digital scrapbooking and so we'll probably print their favorites, and scrapbook them the traditional way, with the aim of documenting what they've learned.

Are you taking your children to work with you and what's your plan of action? Do you know of any other resources that I'm missing? I feel like I only have half a plan at this point, so any further suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.
